Skills Amplification Programme, or SAP, is a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering underprivileged youth in the rural areas of Chipinge. We believe that every young person, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves the opportunity to build a better life. SAP was created to address the triple challenges of unemployment, social exclusion, and poverty that so many young people in our communities face. We work hand in hand with these youths, equipping them with the tools, skills, and support they need to become self-reliant and to contribute meaningfully to the development of their own communities.
We take a three-pronged approach to transforming lives. First, we provide practical skills training that is directly relevant to local economic opportunities. Second, we actively ensure that the most marginalised members of our community—including young people with disabilities, orphans, and single mothers—are included, supported, and empowered. Third, we help our graduates turn their new skills into sustainable incomes by supporting them to start small businesses or find meaningful employment. Through this holistic approach, we are not just offering temporary help; we are building lasting pathways out of poverty.
The Skills Amplification Programme grew out of a simple observation: in the rural communities of Chipinge, that too many young people were being left behind as far as skills development is concerned. With limited access to formal education and few opportunities for employment, their potential was going untapped. This led SAP founder, Irene Mlambo, in the year 2025 to set a programme that aims at addressing this gap.
What began as small, informal training sessions has grown into a structured programme that has touched the lives of hundreds of young people. Our history is written in the success stories of our graduates that comprises of young men and women who have been inspired to have careers of their choice who aim at starting business line that are based on what they are skilled in, thus empowering their communities.
Our mission is to capacitate underprivileged rural youth by providing accessible skills training, promoting full social and economic inclusivity, and nurturing sustainable livelihood projects. We are committed to walking alongside young people on their journey toward economic self-reliance and social dignity, ensuring that no one is left behind.
